    laundering money for murderous gangs such as those operating in mexico is morally inexcusable.. yes.

    aside from the profits (again inexcusable), there is the practical matter of getting black market cash back into the regular economy for use in legal enterprise, etc.

    how can we get the billions spent on drugs back into the economy if not through deposits to banks? legalization .. sure. i hope it happens. but today, billions leave the system and there needs to be some mechanism to replace that cash other than having the govt borrow the equivalent amount from the Fed.
