Brown vs Board of Education was in 1954. Civil Rights Bill was signed in 1964. 18 year-olds got the right to vote in 1971. Roe vs. Wade shortly after. Gay rights, environmental activism, and anti-globalism all went mainstream in the 90’s. The first woman Speaker of the House was sworn in 2007. The first black man to be elected President of the World was in 2008. Two states agreed to fully legalize marijuana in 2012. Tom Donahue might as well be wearing blackface and gingham, playing a banjo, and signing Stephen Foster’s ‘The Ol’ Folks at Home’. “Way down upon the Swaneeeeeee River!”.
