George ‘Buzzard’ Massie proved a long time ago that if you know where and how to look, most of the physical gold in America, is still IN the ground.

Several years ago for just the fun of it, I took my vacation time on the American River in a spot the GPAA recommended. I went back to Denver with over an ounce of gold.
It was not big deal then, but now it would have paid for gas and left enough for a mortgage payment.

And there’s an intriguing thing about upstream American River nuggets… they’re not worn. The edges are crisp and not rounded.
Know what that means? There is an exposed source for those new nuggets, but in well over a hundred years, no one’s found it yet.

Don’t know about you, but that makes for a fascinating week or two in a Farmer-John crawling along the middle of the river bed dodging medicine ball sized rocks that the current just tosses like popcorn.

Now that I’m kind of like semi quasi retired, I think I’ll dig out my old aluminum 72’s and hope they’re not rotted out and split when they’re filled…

… and get a good Garrett2500 with a gold setting that actually works, and join the ‘fever’.
