    Education is generally designed to keep people childishly dependent on the state well into their 20s, 30s, or even 40s. Learning in State schools serves state function. The state pays for the curriculum, the state determines the content. Clearly, the state has become so corrupt, it can no longer offer jobs for the products of the educational system it supported. It clearly doesn’t need educated citizenry since fees are a disincentive to entry. If they get educated, people might demand silly things like rights to land, food, shelter and might even recognize how they’re being cheated and other nonsense like that. /sarc

    If the students want to grow up and wish more independent thought, they should look more toward independent self directed study (autodidactism) and begin to seize back their own authority. Otherwise, the state will continue to dictate lives through socialist mediocrity and continue to steal common law right through endless legalisms.

    @Jayme … well said.

    When you consider what the UK spends on war machinery compared to supporting Uni students , it becomes pretty obvious where their priorities are.
    .. and certainly are not in any way representing the will of the people.

    BTW … loved that RT comment… “Rich & stupid” gets you into any Uni … based on the new system.
