[KR344] Keiser Report: Happy Hacking! (ft. Richard Stallman)

We discuss tuning in, dropping out and the modern day opting out. They also talk about ‘high value’ customers being fast tracked at Heathrow in the name of expediency; while in the US poor people are fast tracked into a private debt collectors’ kickback scheme with the help of district attorneys. In the second half of the show, Max Keiser talks to Richard Stallman about Anonymous protests outside virtual doorways, corporate tyrannies and free software.

In regards to SEC vs. NYSE and the Data lag issue; it reminds me of the doing away of M3 money “tracking” years ago by the FED. Is there any correlation or thread to the lack of accountability, the poisonous deregulation of commercial and investment banks , and the ever-spiraling “creation” of financial instruments/markets?…or am I on the pipe?! Thanks for the insights Max and Stacy !

Menger Mixed Message On Mises Regression

“Dave’s been on a bit of a bitcoin mission lately. There would seem to be a bit of a connection between an issue that has revolved around both Bitcoin and Ludwig von Mises. If you’ve been reading Dave, then you realize there’s been a bit of a debate revolving around the Ludwig von Mises Institute, the New Austrian School of Economics which is based on the teachings of Karl Menger as applied by Antal Fekete and the entire Jaitly-Woods-Keiser-Weiner kerfuffle …”

Stallman really lays out a wonderful ethical principle not only for software and the internet but perhaps in could be molded into a new economics model as well. “Sharing is good.” Sounds like an excellent moral code – right up there with the golden rule. Perhaps it isn’t strong enough to be an axiom but this sounds like it would be an excellent building block on to Menger’s fundamental axiom that value does not exist outside of mankind’s consciousness. Nice to listen to this episode a second time. 🙂
