[KR281] Keiser Report: Oh My Gun!

We discuss how shouting ‘fire!’ in a crowded economy may be the only thing left to save us from our unpayable debts and, failing that, Barack Obama’s ‘revolving door’ could be another GDP booster. In the second half of the show Max talks to David Graeber, author of Debt: The First 5000 Years, about weaponized debt and the origins of May Day.

    @F. Beard – yes on both counts; plus isn’t the second half much better when Max is looking guest in the eye? When we do it via satellite there is a 5 to 10 second delay.

    @Capt. Ray – Happy Birthday!

    @JonnyJames – you need a bit more than that; look at the Iranian revolution of 1979 or, more recently, the Egyptian revolution; the only reason both of those succeeded is the poor and the workers; the middle class came up with the slogans and ideas but they always have something to lose; it was the blue collar workers who shut down all commerce and the poor who were shot down crossing the bridge in Cairo, for example, that ultimately won the day

    @Becky – thanks! yes, we’ve been having a blast making the show in a live setting; I really hate the look of a green screen shot, such dead space and there is a green hue to our skin that you can’t really get rid of; on the rooftop we can have so much more freedom and fun

    @Drones2TargetBanksters – yeah, the argument of one guy with his guns and ammo who says he can use it to ‘defend himself’ from the government . . . yeah right, they call it suicide by cop here; there are many reasons to own a gun, including just plain fun, but if you seriously think it’s going to protect you from SWAT on the ground or drones in the air, you’re just plain dumb; in fact, I think it’s a kind of moral hazard that has ultimately led to this country being stripped of so many rights; for all these guys think “I have a dozen AK-47s and a few Glocks so I am safe,” but the truth is they aren’t – as described above – but more importantly, this false sense of individual security leads them to abandon civic engagement; so as all the other Constitutional rights that aren’t the 2nd Amendment were being stripped away they kept thinking, ‘as long as I personally have my gun, I don’t care’ . . . well, the Second Amendment on it’s own means nothing without the Bill of Rights and all the other Amendments; and to the moron who said that liberals and Democrats have always been trying to take the Second Amendment rights away . . . it was frigging Thomas Jefferson who pushed for it, he’s the founder of the Democratic-Republican Party that became the Democratic Party; he was the opposite of the sort of thinker that is the modern Republican Party which believes in a unitary executive and strong military, it was against this sort of mindset that Jefferson devised the Second Amendment

    Former Libyan oil minister Shukri Ghanem has been found dead in Vienna’s Danube river.

    In MY river!

    @StacyHerbert
    Yes indeed, a critical mass of people historically, always includes the working majority and poor -as I said above, those with little or nothing to lose. As material conditions in the USA worsen, we will see more resistance.

    BTW, good to see you all having fun, laughing and “taking the piss” out of the system. I identify with y’alls sense of humor.

  6. JonnyJames says:

    @jischinger
    thanks for posting the General Strike on 1 May.

    I am calling in sick. I hope everyone does the same.

  7. Badsey says:

    I was watching RT on RoKu and noticed RT has a NYC office now (was just D.C., Moscow). M+S took the show into the bellows of fiat banker hell just to find the silver lining and pump a massive physical silver infusion into the hearts of the vampire squid banker morgue. +OWS will be springing up again (reason for RT in NYC).

    =I expect silver to move this week. +2 and maybe a 3.

  8. F. Beard says:

    @ronron,

    Yep. Now I ain’t ascairt like I was. Ya know, my teeth, I likes to keep em cause I don’t want to have to move to Canada to find a woman.

  9. SilverPorno says:

    Yes, very good KR!

    The outdoor settings are really refreshing, so much better than the swirling orange (somewhat hypnotizing) mass that’s in the background of the studio setting.

    I have to disagree with an early comment about M&S becoming less and less professional with the presentation. This is honest reporting. Max and Stacy are being who they are, it’s natural, it’s real. It’s really informative, well researched and it’s great fun to watch.

    Well, we need to laugh when we’re faced with what those in power are up to, don’t we? It means we’re not going to let them get under our skin, making us fear them.

    Honest humour (an I love the saying “there’s no such thing as a joke”) reflects a natural strength that’s far stronger than the force tptb use, via the MSM, to try and control us.

    Or… is the kind of highly-scripted, stiff, flat and totally dishonest reporting of the MSM that has no depth and no substance better?

    No contest. Is there anything better in the MSM (and I do consider RT to be part of the MSM now) than Max and Stacy?

    Well, I’ve not seen anything.

    @Beardo. bobby clark was a great player. funny his big smile with the teeth missing.

  11. ronron says:

    i have never seen a 2 hour silver chart look like this. it,s nuts. for sure.

  12. Jeff says:

    just like I said … days soon after the recent internet “bullish” chatter (that Gold & silver were on their way up again) they now drop like a stone. Hope you shorted them like I said

  13. TJ says:

    Perhaps he was referring to Fire AKA The God of Hellfire

    Here a good example of the foundation of debt on the social frabric, originaly .

    Rosie: “You know what I am doing next week!? I am renting a yacht, and I am calling all the friends and take the yacht to Catelena and your commin and I am putting the whole freak’n bill!

    Larry: “Oh, Yeah!? You know what I am doing? I am calling your family, I am flying them out here first class putting them in a hotel taking them out to dinner and you!”
