    He is against Hadopi, but is for Act 2 of the Cultural Exception, which is similar to Hadopi.

    Posted on Counterpunch today
    Judging by the title, many people are fed up with the propaganda. This is the first time I have seen an article with such a title on Counterpunch.

    A voracious virus attack has hit computers running key parts of Iran’s oil sector, forcing authorities to unplug its main oil export terminal from the Internet and to set up a cyber crisis team, according to reports on Monday.

    German MSM dissing Pirates , almost every day …

    Just ONE of MANY :

    Werdet erwachsen, Piraten!
    ( Grow up , Pirates )

    http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/0,1518,829209,00.html

    I watched their “Spokesman”on the Sunday night MuppetMedia Show in MSM German TV…. it was sickening.
    The only one defending them was the Chief Editor of Stern Magazine.

    The moderator hardly gave him a chance to speak … always finishing sentences for him and /or interrupting him , or speaker over his voice.
    It was tedious to listen to … so I switched OFF !
    ( a rare occasion that I watched TV … and reminded me of why I don’t )

    Nice link. Everybody who is paying attention knows, unfortunately not the bulk of academic economists (as well as pundits and “journalists” – including in europe and Nederland. I worked for a Dutch university for several years and they are packed with neoclassical groupthinkers just like in the UK and USA.

    Yeah, I’ve also heard of the German MSM smear campaign against the Pirate Party and that at the head of that campaign is Spiegel. But that doesn’t surprise me, since the old-school parties are scared shitless about the ever rising support for the Pirates, not just in Germany but in Europe as a whole. I’ve heard in the last couple of days that in Greece the Pirate Party is polling at 1%, a month after it was founded!

    More and more people who are sick of old-school politicians are turning to the Pirates and that’s good. The problem is a lack of a solid economic program, one that is based on the current economic realities and that rejects neoliberalism. But hopefully the Pirates will be able to fix that in the not too distant future.

    Well son of gun! “Dutch university”. Yeah, these naive Neo-Liberalists don’t learn from the many failures.

    Latest example is the train wreck yesterday here in the Netherlands. Cause: Privitisation by faulty Neo-Liberalistic thinking. Train tickets got even more expensive while the whole rail infrastructure is neglected causing many technical failures in train equipment and infrastructure.

  15. Youri Carma says:

    @JonnyJames

    Experienced that myself btw. Was stopped twice in a train ride by a faulty electronic emergency break system. Only after they bypassed this electronic system we could proceed our train trip.

    Luckely some peep from the train company was on board and gave him a rant about exactly this subject. :)

    However yesterday we’ve seen the tragic end result of faulty Neo-Liberalistic thinking – Dutch train crash: Woman dies of her injuries http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17807697

  16. JonnyJames says:

    @Youri
    Funny I thought the same thing when I read about the tragic train wreck. Those neo-liberal assholes are responsible for murder.
    I remember when de Nederlandse Spoorwegen was always on time, cheap, and accidents were unheard of. Now the privatizing kleptocrats fucked it all up, as usual.

    Havn’t got the faintest idea. I am just glad I’ve got somtin to vote.

    I voted ‘Piratenpartij’ last time but they unfortunately didn’t make it. I remember that on the way to the voting boxes I told some people on the way about the ‘Piratenpartij’ and they laughed at me. Notin unsual with the cognitive dissonanced Dutch but I think these people honestly didn’t hear about ‘Piratenpartij’ before.

    Copyright needs to find an equilibrium with digital; normally it should be business decisions , not legislation. Hollande has one idea; tax 75% of every income above 150,000 Euros with a flat 10,000 Euro deduction limit; thus everything above 160,000. This of course is ridiculous, since everyone will take savings off-shore and additionally create bogus companies to buy/lease cars, logement, dining-out, travel expenses, etc. Why can’t he say; everyone with an income above 160,000 should spend x% per capita to improve their carbon footprint or the environment??? Soler water heaters for their homes, hybrid electric cars, fuel cell electricity, improved insolation, soler-tile roofs, etc. Spending creates companies, jobs, revenue, etc; why tax the rich, simply tell them to spend on products and technologies that are beneficial to their long term prosperity and the environment, which will increase capital flow within the economy.
