We discuss how a video not featuring Justin Bieber went viral and how Max Keiser started a gold stampede. They also talk about “the white man’s debt burden” of Uganda’s resources and Afghanistan’s “crony capitalism”. In the second half of the show, Max talks to David Morgan about silver circles, ounces and manipulation.

Chinese Economy Already in ‘Hard Landing,’ JPMorgan’s Mowat Says
China’s economy is already in a so- called “hard landing,” according to Adrian Mowat, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s chief Asian and emerging-market strategist.

“If you look at the Chinese data, you should stop debating about a hard landing,” Mowat, who is based in Hong Kong, said at a conference in Singapore yesterday. “China is in a hard landing. Car sales are down, cement production is down, steel production is down, construction stocks are down. It’s not a debate anymore, it’s a fact.”

The $3.6 trillion Shadow Banking Hole Is Why The Fed Will Have To Do More Quantitative Easing

15 consecutive quarters of shadow banking system contraction, which peaked at $21 trillion in Q1 2008, and in Q4 2011 declined to $15.1 trillion… and dropping. It is this collapse that the Fed has yet to tackle, and it is the offset of this collapse which the equity market has somehow already priced in!

Did you hear Webster Tarpley calling for Hamas to attack Israel in case of a clash with Iran (some people Hamas said they won’t – “none of our fucking business”) ? The fool does not understand that the Iranians don’t give a hoot about the Palestinians. Hamas understand that. They will be enjoying Israel wrath (with little to do in response – at least for now), not Mr. Tarpley.
    What a jerk….!

Sorry for deviating from the usual format. I am _very_ busy at work and I don’t have much time to satisfy Susan’s quality standards requirements 🙂
But the guy is a kook. I mean, come on. The British empire, that disappeared decades ago, runs the show. This is absurd at best…! And there is much more, of course. I don’t intend to listen to his drivel anymore…

    March 2012 Gaza-Israel clashes
Palestinians fired 304 Grad missiles, rockets and mortars deep into Israel. Three civilians were wounded directly by the fire, one of them seriously. Additionally, 21 people suffered from shock and 11 were injured while fleeing for cover. Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted many of the Palestinian-launched projectiles aimed at large cities, shooting down 56 rockets in 71 attempts

    March 14
Around 7 pm, a Grad rocket fired at Beersheba was intercepted by Iron Dome. A second rocket landed in an empty field. Neither projectile caused injuries or damage.Following the attack, local authorities announced that schools in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Gan Yavne and the Bnei Shimon Regional Council would be closed for March 15. Some schools had been open on March 14 after the recent escalation was perceived as having ended. Israel responded to the attack with air strikes on an infiltration tunnel and a rocket launching site.
    March 15
In the morning, Palestinians fired a Qassam rocket into the Sdot Negev Regional Council, causing no injuries or damage.

@ Tamir The rockets will never stop, not till the stars burn out. I have said this for 10 years.

  22. Tamir says:

    @Al Kyder,

You know where this is heading don’t you?
A full ground invasion of Gaza – yet again. This time the Israelis may decide to stay – who knows.
But yet again, the Palestinians (at least some of them) are proving themselves to be the biggest idiots the world has even seen. I mean, how hard and consistent can you be in fucking up your own life?

Uganda Court Halts Sale of Shell Unit’s Assets

KAMPALA, Uganda – Uganda’s High Court has blocked Royal Dutch Shell PLC from proceeding with further negotiations about an intended sale of its Ugandan unit, court officials said Wednesday.

An injunction was granted Tuesday after Shell Uganda Ltd. employees begun suing the company, contending that the sale of the unit without their consent is illegal and contrary to their contracts of employment, and that Shell’s actions render their future uncertain.

“The suit will be heard March 16, until then, the transaction is on hold,” a court official told Dow Jones Newswires.

Tullow Doubles Dividend Amid Record Earnings

LONDON – Tullow Oil PLC Wednesday doubled its dividend, capping off a year in which the London-listed oil explorer completed a $2.9 billion deal to sell some of its license blocks in Uganda and made a significant discovery in South America.

Tullow, which posted an almost sevenfold increase in pretax profit to $689 million, also said it had begun a remedial program in Ghana to try and correct the well design flaws that have inhibited the expected ramp-up in production there.

“Tullow now has a very strong balance sheet and increased cash flow, which gives us real financial flexibility and a firm foundation for further growth,” said Chief Executive Aidan Heavey.

Tullow last month completed the long-awaited $2.9 billion sale of part of its interests in the three oil blocks in Uganda to France’s Total SA and China’s CNOOC Ltd., which is expected to unlock investments worth $10 billion to develop the country’s oil fields. The company said Wednesday it expects to start production from these fields in 2016.

“While reported net income was 7% ahead of our forecasts–and is a positive–we see Tullow’s investment case hinging on the breadth of its exploration portfolio,” said Barclays Capital’s Alessandro Pozzi.

In particular, the firm’s assets in French Guiana, Mauritania and Kenya “offer short-term exploration catalysts that could unlock significant shareholder value,” said Pozzi, who duly raised his price target on the stock 0.83% to 1815p a share.

Vanoil Starts Seismic Survey in Rwanda

The survey is being undertaken by the Syracuse University, as part of their long-running scientific investigations of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. The Syracuse University technical team is headed by Dr. Christopher Scholz, SU faculty member and research geoscientist. The team has conducted marine seismic surveys elsewhere in East African rift system basins including rift basins of lakes Turkana, Malawi, Albert, Edward and Tanganyika. The current survey extends across 630 square miles (1,631 square kilometer) area of Vanoil’s exclusive license in the East Kivu Graben Block.

The northern most part of the Western Branch of East Africa Rift System (CARS) is the Albertine Graben in Uganda in the Lake Albert area which has an estimated oil reserve in place of approximately 2 billion barrels. This major oil discovery was found by Heritage and Tullow oil companies. The similar origin (tectonic and stratigraphy) of Kivu Graben with Albertine Graben presupposes a similar sedimentary basin in-fill and therefore makes East Kivu Graben Block an interesting area to explore for hydrocarbons. Its prospectivity is further enhanced by presence of Long chain hydrocarbons in the lake bottom sediments, indicative of possible existence of an active petroleum system.

Hmm. Maybe so. But what about the Jews? Isn’t the point of a Jewish Homeland to prevent another Holocaust? So why cluster together in a tiny country? Wouldn’t dispersal be a better survival option?
