My government doesn´t have a hand in my pocket, i pay taxes according to the law. This is my country, my state, i´m responsible for everything that is happening here. My country gave me an (almost) free education, it takes care of roads i travel on, it provides security for me and my family and much more. And my country provides the framework for my economic activities and my wealth. My country is the source of almost all the freedom i have. Paying taxes is a small price for that. Too bad you don´t have trust in your country. I guess that´s a great part of the problem today.

I guess there is a thin line separating the state and the oil companies.
Take Royal Dutch Shell as an example.

State-owned oil companies increase price volatility and pollution, but rarely get used as geopolitical weapons, says Stanford researcher

CDSs are like me offering insurance if the moon falls on your house. You may not really think it will, but heck you can pass the bill on to the peons. So you get a contract that if the moon falls on your house you get paid for loss. Was there ever a backstop for the CDS? No, of course not. Was the CDS contract ever valid? No. Is it all fraud and gambling with OPM (other peoples money)? Yes.
If called, options are: 1). Nullify the CDS, and send the people responsible to jail, or
2). Pay the CDS, and have the banks bail out all the gamblers involved (bankers and financial institutions) so they do not take a loss, and utlimately get the tax payer on the hook for the bail out money.
You know which option will be applied.

Meanwhile the moon did fall on the house, and the world was destroyed.

Fear of government is something that is used by corporations to usurp more power. The right are most susceptible to this. They confuse corporations with individual people and so fail to understand that this so called “Private Property” is actually stolen from the common.

They used the ploy if individualism to pass off fascism as somehow being the choice of free democratic citizens. This is reenforced by endless spin machines churning out corpratist propaganda splattered in every space you can imagine, from Billboards to the right hand column on this site.

    Carbon sequestration technology.

I guess the CO2 could be sold to farmers (greenhouses) to increase the yields and
    provide a carbon sink.
My other guess is that Exxon et al are capable of selling oxygen to humans in order to increase the yield.

If taxes are used to educate the people I’ll be happy to pay it.
If universities rely on Exxon, Shell, etc.,
    one can doubt the science.

    Talking about facts Ms Herbert,

what about the facts, that for most of the people in the donor countries, its normal

-to show up on work on time
-to show up, even its below -8 degrees
    -to wash their hands
    -to photo copy files
    -to carry files around

where greek government employees taking additional bonuses for it….

The fact that for most people of the donor countries there is no 13th,14th,15th or even 16th bonus salary a year.

While the greek government employees still receiving it….

The fact that for most of the people in the donor countries, its normal
to pay their taxes. Even they don’t like it.

Instead in Greece it is still a popular sport to avoid taxes…

The fact, that for the people in the donor countries it is dead normal, if a relative dies, you sign him off and don’t keep receiving the wages.

While greek people have kept on collecting the wages, even their relatives have been dead for ages….

The fact that more and more people in the spender countries are working under the bread line.
Have to take cuts in wages and pensions, and especially in germany don’t even have a minimum wage.

And now, those bad bad donor countries dare to ask to fix this difference??

While the Greek government is not getting their shits together and start collecting taxes properly, especially from their rich citizens?

The problem here is very clear to me. With the single currency so called Euro, they have tried to bring countries together, which are having complete different mentalities and sense of responsibility.

My greek friend , she is living here in Germany for most of her life, made it clear.
Unless there is no change in mentality within the greece society , there will be no change.

Corporate “Personhood” Issue in MF Global Case to be Heard: Court Date Set

NEW YORK – On March 6, 2012, the controversial legal principle of “corporations are ‘persons’” will be raised and argued before a Federal Bankruptcy Court in the ongoing MF Global bankruptcy case.

Adam Furgatch, a former MF Global client, filed a motion last week that asks the Court to treat MF Global Holdings, Ltd. as a “person” instead of a corporation. The Court has since placed the motion to be heard on the docket and on the Court calendar.

  17. AG Hoarder says:

    >why isn’t the usa bankrupt.

The dollar is the reserve currency of the world. There are more dollars outside the U.S. than in. When the “federal” reserve devalues the dollar, they are stealing from everyone holding dollars, aka the world. The “federal” reserve provides the currency for U.S government spending. Inflation is where the majority of funding comes from, taxes are chump change. The more dollars there are, the more interest skimmed by the cabal of bankers known as the “federal” reserve, spending used to back events that cause pretext for other events that cause spending with borrowed currency from the bankers who again accrue more interest and fees.

I’m suprised that no-one has twigged on to the idea that Greece is the guinea pig case, where the EU is watching how the population is reacting to severe austerity measures. The idea is to push and push for more until near breaking point. Then they will go on to the next country and say, “Well, if the Greeks could do it, why can’t you?”, only they will push and push even further for even more severe austerity (fashionable word) measures.

So, brace yourself Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Italy because you may be next.

That’s the materialistic gross level solidified bankruptcy
the subtler spiritual bankruptcy has been ongoing.
Spiritual bankruptcy means when someone stops acting noble.
Noble-hearted means acting honorable, with integrity, as Castenada
used say with impeccability, as Padmasambhava said, Despite nonduality
due to karma -behavior still should be as fine as sifting grains of flour.
In other words if you were sifting flour with nowness awareness &
noticed a turd in the flour you would remove it.
Whereas banksters see multiple turds in the sifting flour of their lives
but instead of doing everything to keep the flour pure as possible they
add more turds and destroy themselves.
Banksters dereliction of duty to their communities due to
selfishness and corrupt, shit-for-brains behavior results in happiness
    and inevitably
The bankster greed & ignorance -the bankruptcy of their soul is
a lack of compassion that has the natural result of miser
    misery miserable miserliness.
The human emotion misery corresponds with the action miserliness.
Miserable people lack creative juices become control freaks
and project their narrowmindedness & misery as authoritarian
behavior tying themselves up in further knots.
Surrounding themselves with corrupt chains of thought
making them slaves to an inhibited, rigid & joyless world view.
It’s a form of hell depicted symbolically in literature by Dante
and in art by Bosch. This de-evolved animal behavior as opposed
to noble human behavior was depicted symbolically as Satan who
had animal parts-cloven hoofs, horns, a tail etc. It’s a symbol that
illiterate childish religious nuts think is real.
    Not real -a visual symbol.
Like a video game -it’s not real.

Stay positive, be noble-hearted and help humanity evolve
that brings a inner peace & joy. Don’t let banksters implant
thoughts & rob your mind and confuse you.
Keep your inner strength, be noble & creative and when

I don’t understand this situation with Greece. I really don’t. What am I missing? Who benefits from the destruction of Greece aside from vultures who get to swoop in to clean the carcass?
The people who created this situation ARE vultures.
I have a problem with a lot of the reporting regarding Greece and Germany. This latest issue that Greece is being burnt to the ground to appease the German “population”, REALLY.
Did the the English men and boys who went to the trenches in WWI fight, kill and die because they personally hated the German men and boys in the other trench?????
No, all wars and major conflicts are participated in by people who have no idea of the REAL reasons they are fighting someone who they have never spoken to, never seen and barely knew existed before they started firing shells and bombs at each other.
The power struggles, game play and spats of the infantile minds who run the world are played out in the blood of the people, who the ones who started the war “games” consider so far below them that they are subhuman.
The power people who start wars, gun or financial, NEVER fight or get harmed in them. The world is SO Orwellian. In one of Orwell’s most brilliant insights, England was like a family, albeit a family with the wrong relatives in charge, but a family nonetheless.
It would seem that a major, if not THE major, quality needed for leadership is psychopathic tendencies.
The nature of man is, or has been bent to be, DESTRUCTIVE. The game is rigged and Jo bag of doughnuts, Fritz bag of Salzstangen, Yannis bag of kebab, George bag of chips etc. etc. will live and die oblivious to how they survived, what their actions meant or caused and how they perished; for they are mere pieces on the board and not the players.
