    That isn’t in front of the old Bear Stearns building on Park and 47th-48th, is it?

    I worked for a tenant of what was the DLJ building across 48th from it back in the summer of ’98. Looks like that one is UBS now. That was before the GCT north entrance, when the way to get down to track 16-17 was through an emergency exit door on the side of the base of the DLJ building. I saw some grey suits use it one day, and I used it after that for most of the summer, good fun.

    Who’ll stand in front with bars in-hand when we hit the Hunt Bros. high?

    Hey Max i remember you saying a couple of years ago on TAM that you were never going back to that festering place called New York city,what changed?

  32. frances snoot says:

    Modicum is an interesting word. In previous time it related to measure. Now it has been tightened: just at the outbreak. But it reveals the dollar’s true role; one of measure. The scales balance with the index relative to force. When the index itself is not fulcrum, balance is not achieved. But man’s balance is not harmony.

    btw: Nice to see everyone happy in NY.

    Keys

    Within the rays
    Of many fathoms
    Lie the keys
    The keys
    Of the kingdom
    Of men

    Lost soliloquy
    Random tides
    Upon the many
    One word
    And little recompense

    There is no treasure
    For the treasure
    Is mine only
    Heart’s joy
    And thine
    Lost wanting

    Silver and gold
    Silver and gold
    And the blood
    Of the many
    Make only mermaids

    Laugh

    Excellent picture of the Top Brass of the SLAyers of the M0RgUe! This big piggy is busy at the fair, but will be watching the email for the latest N00z. The timing couldn’t be better as the train is leaving the station. We’ll all need silver amulets to ward off the Evil Wicked Nonsense of the M0RgUe, BofA, CME, CRIMEX and their parrots in numerous reaches of American government and other nations today. Their time is coming ever closer to their Waterloo. These Bank$ter$ aren’t too large to fail. Increasing pressure will force that, even with their elistist influences. There will be many Black Swans and much pain to endure. Physical Ag/Au Metal will be one of the only soldiers standing after the Viagra has long worn off. OINK!!

  43. Kwai Chang says:

    @Dedo…
    what is your function?
    (what’s the ‘piece price’ on disinfo comments?)
    I need a job…so I thought maybe I could do what you do…
    (can I fill out an application?)
    work from home…see the world

  44. frances snoot says:

    the function is a box relative to the input of man’s wanton desiring

  45. frances snoot says:

    as such the function is a creation. missapprobation. limitless.

  46. frances snoot says:

    but limited by the bounds of reason. reason’s children are death.

  47. frances snoot says:

    granted, math has a purpose. but man’s purpose always had a oscillation. in this derrida had faith, but faith of what calling?

    Stacy is right that the sea only calls men to reckon with want.

  48. Kwai Chang says:

    @frances snoot…
    did you hear about the house that wanted to have safe sex?
    …it used a condominium

  49. Bonn says:

    No, ronron. The mermaid only laughs occasionally, and this is one of those times.

  59. frances snoot says:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-18/derivatives-sold-to-governments-get-dodd-frank-disclosure-one-year-later.html

    Interest rate swaps?

    “Dodd-Frank was passed as part of sweeping reform of the financial sector in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, and is designed to move OTC derivatives such as interest rate swaps away from a market where trades were done bilaterally between banks, and onto formal trading systems where prices are more transparently displayed to the wider market.

    Competing clearing houses have this year been gearing up to handle an anticipated wave of OTC derivatives. The development pits LCH.Clearnet, which launched its US SwapClear service in March, against CME Group, the Chicago-based operator of exchanges and clearing houses.

    SwapClear has been clearing OTC interest rate swaps traded between banks since 1999, but the battleground in OTC derivatives clearing shifted this year to winning clearing business from non-bank users of OTC derivatives that will be required under Dodd-Frank to clear their OTC derivatives deals – such as that of BlackRock, one of the largest so-called “buyside” users of interest rate swaps.

    “Executing with multiple dealers while maintaining operational efficiency for clearing services is a terrific step forward for the industry,” said Supurna Vedbrat, co-head of electronic trading and market structure at BlackRock.”

    “JPMorgan bankers also used the Jefferson County swaps to funnel payments to friends of local commissioners to land the deals, according to the SEC. The transactions left Alabama Governor Robert Bentley working to head off the biggest-ever municipal bankruptcy.”

  64. Your Silver Liberation Song Monkey will be in the (other) belly of the beast Tuesday evening. There will likely be a performance in front of the White House of some sort, possibly starring the Capitol Park Police. Consider it an hors d’oeuvres for your NYC meetup.

  65. jorge f. massey says:

    You guys are my heroes!!! Not only you lead the avantgarde SLA, but you also live beyond the whole issue in the sense that you all were gracious enough to meet, enjoy yourselves and leave us with this absolutely epic photograph.
    This picture of the four of you is glittering with mischief, love, happiness. It looks like you really did Carpe Diem!!!
    And if you watch Midnight in Paris, like my wife and I did with a couple friends of us last night, all four of you make la Belle Epoch and the”parisian golden age” lend you some of their best candor and euphoria. Err, sort of.
    And you two ladies are simply beautiful and real with just the right tad of wicked!!!
    This is ment as a tribute to you all.
    All the best from the winter in the coast of Buenos Aires.
    Adios amigos.

  66. ronron says:

    @Snoot. i do expect that. 15 oz silver-1 oz gold.

  67. frances snoot says:

    Don’t know, ronron. Last time I checked, Davy Jones’s locker was at the bottom of the ocean.

  68. Ron says:

    Man! Is it just me, or is Stacy super-sexy?

  69. cookeee57 says:

    So close, Max and Stacy! Come out to colorado on this trip too!

  70. David says:

    Max came to N.Y. for the silver rally this week. I was just made aware of this by several sources. We have a gap up coming this week:
    The News UNIT Blogspot

  71. F. Beard says:

    @Stacy,

    You know I love you but your color is off. A slight case of jaundice?

    You are of course tres cute whatever your color. :)

  72. Kwai Chang says:

    Stacy,
    in the Buddha field of life…
    you are a very beautiful flower…
    (the other girl is pretty too)

  73. frances snoot says:

    The Mermaid

    To yon fause stream, that, near the sea,
    Hides many a shelf and plum,
    And rives wi’ fearful din the stanes,
    A witless knight did come.

    The day shines clear – far in he’s gane
    Where shells are silver bright,
    Fishes were loupin’ a around’,
    And sparklin’ to the light.

    Whan, as he laved, sounds cam sae sweet
    Frae ilka rouck an’ tree;
    The brief was out, ’twas him it doom’d
    The mermaid’s face to see.

    Frae ‘neath a rock, soon, soon she rase,
    And stately on she swam,
    Stopp’d i’ the midst, and becked and sant
    To him to stretch his han’.

    Gowden glist the yellow links
    That round her neck she’d twine;
    Her een war o’ the skyie blue,
    Her lips did mock the wine;

    The smile upon her bonny cheek
    Was sweeter than the bee;
    Her voice excell’d the birdie’s sang
    Upon the birchen tree.

    Sae couthie, couthie did she look,
    And mickle had she fleech’d;
    Out shot his hand – alas! alas!
    Fast in the swirl he screech’d.

    The mermaid laugh’d, her brief was gane,
    And kelpie’s blast was blawin’,
    Fu’ low she douk’d, ne’er rase again,
    For deep, deep was the fawin’.

    Aboon the stream his wraith was seen,
    Warlocks tirl’d lang at gloamin’;
    That e’en was coarse, the blast blew hoarse,
    Ere lang the waves were foamin’.–Vernon Hill

  74. F. Beard says:

    I went down
    to the sea;
    waded in as fur as my knees.
    I looked and I looked
    but nay could see:
    Mermaids, Stacy
    or even seaweed.
    The Unknown Poet

  75. Kwai Chang says:

    Stacy…Mermaid???
    (or Siren?)

  76. frances snoot says:

    @Beardsley: try looking without the toilet-paper-tube firmly attached to your eye-socket.

    @Kwang-rang:
    To love the mysterious is never to define but rather to wonder.

  77. F. Beard says:

    @snoot,

    Send Cleetus down. I bet he won’t see nuttin either.

  78. Kwai Chang says:

    @frances snoot…
    definitions are nothing but limitations…
    (so static…so finite…so what)
    I do not like green eggs and ham
    I do not like them
    Sam I am…

  79. Kwai Chang says:

    (comments as chess):
    “open the pod-bay door, HAL…”
    Breaking News Wide Shut…
    “911 was fake…filmed in the secret desert studios by SStanley KKKubrick”
    (now that’s a real big scoop)

  80. imperfectcitizen says:

    Badass picture

  81. Chris says:

    Silver Futurist looks demonic in this photo! I prefer your silver super=hero outfit, my stylish friend. I like the idea of an SLA photo w/ bars at a crucial moment (eg Hunt high). Most classic shot I can think of would be a NYSE trader holding up a silver bar with a print of the JPM price below 1 Oz. in the background.

  82. Flopot says:

    Meh. Poetry is easy…

    Roses are Red
    Violets are Blue
    We buy silver
    And so should you.

    Hmmm, maybe not so easy ;-)

  83. Christophe says:

    So what’s the deal on meeting in NYC on Tuesday? I have some business to take care of in NYC (my crooked Zionist ex-landlord is playing a waiting game with my 3700$ rent deposit, which should be in SILVER by now!), so I was thinking of taking a train in for the day/evening.

    As for suggestions:
    - as a joke, we could go to Dave & Busters by Times Square: I mention it because the place is so terrible nobody goes normally (hence lots of tables available), but also because one of their crumby games is an electric chair + dry ice dispenser (for when you reach a super-critical state) -> shouldn’t we get a video of Max on the chair? He could give us a good picture of what’s to come…
    - we could stay cheap/open and meet in Central Park (everyone bring some food and drink, and we lay out a spread)
    - … countless venues really. If no one has found anything yet, then I’d be glad to come up with more options, if you want :)

    As an aside to one comment I noticed on a different (YouTube) thread, from a poster who was looking forward to explaining to Max all about the deeper conspiracies that Max doesn’t go into during his segments: IMO, Max&Stacy know all that stuff and they purposefully choose not to go too deeply into certain aspects of the conspiracy because if they did, then they would be just another Alex Jones, and hence unfit for the mainstream audience, which is the one we need to reach.

    That being said, I’m looking forward to all the discussions – it’s going to be a lot of fun!

  84. Christophe says:

    P.S.: I used to use this site when looking for restaurants/bars in NYC:
    http://nymag.com/restaurants/?f=food

  85. Christophe says:

    update: seems like the location is set:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHuTn7IT5jk&feature=youtu.be
    Campaign for Liberty 8:00pm Tuesday 8/2/11.
    174-178 Mott Street, New York NY

    P.S.: very nice video SilverFuturist. It was thoughtful of you to give that background info on what it’s like to be Max & Stacy on the road, and how exhausting it must be sometimes :)
