The Biggest Bank in France Has Suddenly Cut ATM Card Access to Cash in Half and People are Freaking Out!

I just got off the phone with Pierre Jananovic . . . La Banque Postale has lowered the limits on the amounts of cash customers can withdraw per week by 50%. First of all, for you Americans and Brits, the way France works its banking system – customers are limited to how much they can withdraw per week from their accts no matter what the balance. Now what has happened here is that Gold card members – who could take out 3,000 euros a week – are now limited to 1,500 a week. This was sudden, without warning, and people here in France are freaking out. Pierre tells me that its the first clear sign that liquidity in the European banking system is drying up.

It’s just the beginning of the end. Soon you won’t be able to access any of your money that has been devalued by 50% or more like in Belarus. Buy Silver and Gold while you still can.

  5. daveinspain says:

It isn,t the money thats dried up…….just the crap and lies!

  6. Wolferl says:

I don´t know. The lower limit starts on the first of august and not now. Maybe it´s for security reasons, because so many ec-cards are stolen.

  7. Streetsounds says:

Would that be to stop Greeks, Portuguese and Irishmen extracting their Euros abroad. I think that whilst the Euro is a common currency, each nation has their own branding. Some people may not trust a “Greek” Euro.

  8. JohnS says:

Nobody should be surprised by this move. We’ve had plenty of warning and time to prepare accordingly.

Oh boy oh boy! I just said this morning to my better half that we had better get our last remaining fiat out of….La Banque Postale!! I’m going there tomorrow to get it out, and may bury it in the garden with the silver!

When is this bloomin’ silver price going to sky-rocket? I’m getting impatient. And bored. Might as well get on with the collapse, now that we all know about it.

Peter Schiff is on the process of opening gold-backed accounts on his EuroPac Bank, where you first buy gold, then you can make purchases with that gold through a EuroPac Bank debit card worldwide.

Needless to say, that is the way to go when that option becomes available.

  18. Danny Cunnington says:

Relax. They are just ratcheing up. You can still pull cash. I get €5,600 tomorrow and €3,600 next week. This is just the ATMs. Just make sure you are out by the end of July. Keep the withdrawal slips with the cash so they can’t nail you for drug money. Maximum note size: Green 100s.

  19. YoLithos says:

Strangling the cash supply (to humans) is standard practice in the 3rd world, right before foisting over some “economic reform”. Or enacting a “monetarty correction”. Devaluation. Or change in denomination. Or taking zeroes off (or adding them) each note.

Taking zeroes off is really fun. A lot of “old” notes still circulate for quite a while, while hastily stamp-marked ones and “new” ones – without several zeroes – slowly trickle into use.

Tourists are usually severy befuggled by $500000 notes (or coins) worth less than a $50. It’s really fun when 2 or 3 devaluation’s notes circulate at the same time. And seeing street urchins and vendors getting everything right without having to think about it.

  20. YoLithos says:

On the other hand, money is a dirty thing. Could some vile “grocery” bug have made it onto some?

BTW – Antibiotic resistance is typical of industrial animal farming. Not eco-vegetable raising. And let’s not forget the radiation clouds, and rain, shall we?

  21. Badsey says:

How are the IMF execs gonna be able to purchase hotel rooms and prostitutes now? 1,500€ a week is poverty to these people. =Expect IMf bankers to ask for another personal “bailout” soon since their fiat lifestyle is being severely cramped.

  22. Wolferl says:

    @ Badsey

You can still pay your bills with plastic money. Banks don´t like cash because it´s expensive to operate. That´s why they try to charge all kind of fees for cash if they can. Besides the security aspect i think Banque Postal wants the people to pay with their ec or credit cards at shops or supermarkets more often, because this lowers their costs.

  23. Palantír says:

Is this limited to the ATM machines or is this a also within the bank itself over the bank counter? if the latter is also true then it must be a deeply worrying shift for the French people.

  24. Geek Boy says:

This was a problem too for many Irish people Ive met in South America. The banks in Ireland have reduced the amount you can withdraw daily to 100 euro. This was problematic to many of us – and we were charged 3 euro everytime I used an atm. Another way to screw us over….

  25. Sweden says:

The banks earn most if you use your credit card. So they want everyone to stop using cash. The strategy then is to make it difficult and expensive to use cash, so people are getting used to only use credit cards. Then it can be very easy to shut down the society because no one has cash, only cards. The banks can “strike” and no one can buy food, or fill up their car in their gas station. It would only take a day or to to stop everything. It would also be more difficult for a bank run to take place, because you can only transfer the money to another bank. its brilliant. :)

  26. susan says:

    @Sweden

Exactly! This has been happening for some while now – cheques are disappearing from UK next month. Control is the game

    @Pale,tir

I’ll let you know tomorrow when I go to get the last of my savings out!

I have a feeling the fairground ride has just started up – hold on tight!

As if we needed even more confirmation….

How many times have I posted on here…

    1. Take AT LEAST 25-30% of your cash out now and put into PMs………………NOW!
    2. Keep a float of about £2,000 ($3,200) at home.

When the shit hits the fan….your internet account will be unaccessable or will have conveniently crashed, and the cash dispensers will dry up in a few hours.

Thats if the Govt as an “emergency measure”, does not declare a “bank holiday”.

As far as that cash dispenser is concerned do you really want to be in a position where
thats 250 Lb guy near you doesn’t bash your brains out first, or another doesn’t, rob you as you walk away.

    Stop thinking, start acting!

    Manyana Manyana, never comes.

We are in clear and present danger ….this is not a drill!…………………Z

Casinos work well on cash –> but the new gulag casinos are credit or zynga (virtual) it seems with the gulag banks following suit. I still remember when you could buy physical gold/silver coins (US mint bullion or proof) at banks.

-all the more reason to join the SLA/GLA and buy physical -unless you want your money in Zynga/FarmTown dollars.

Don’t worry it has and will continue ! but its long term – need to be in both gold and silver. There is a manipulation problem but its really a buying opportunity especially for silver there will be no stopping pm’s with the fundamentals (total deluded headless chicken lunacy) check out Jim Sinclair.

They’ll be back to making withdrawals with shotguns and masks soon.

HSBC inform me that cheques will no longer be guaranteed by cheque cards.
The idea is destroy confidence that cheques will be honoured.
You can still write cheques, but who will accept them with a guarantee?

Well its the beginning of the end for the Eussr. The ecb has an 444 billion of bad assets on its balance & this will go up because spain will fall & ofcourse our Spanisch friends wiil ultimately need some ecb help.

I didn’t ask for an euro nor did i vote yes to a membership fo the Netherlands in the Eussr in a referendum.

Let the whole damned Eusssr blow up to smitherines, those bailouts are like throwing money into a really big blackhole.

So how do you pay your monthly rent if its over 1500. ?
This $$hit results from YEARS of letting them push us around and not resisting. American men have been neutered and the sHE-males are poor replacements. USA soon to reap the karma it has sown in Iraq, as the Abu Graib mentality we approved around the world becomes the Law of the Land here, with minor offenses being branded as ‘terrorist’. This is JUST the start folks.

Here’s where your tax money has gone while you were watching the superbowl and porn. Militarizing the gestapo at every level. We brought IRAQ home… Kicking in the door of the terrorists, saving us from the collegiate al qaeda. YOU’RE next if that grocery bill, car payment or ccard falls behind.
