“This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms,” Maes said.

    jump the shark!!!

  2. F. Beard says:

Well, if stimulus money is to be spent I can think of bigger wastes than building new sidewalks and bike paths.

  3. But surely Stacy bicycles in Denver could cause this to happen!! (gasp!) (dramatic effect!)

  4. stacyherbert says:

@GB’sR – funny! I wonder which came first; I guess Batman did?

  5. @Stacy
No idea. I’d say ask Max, he strikes me as someone who would know such ridiculous trivia. 🙂 I’m off to post batman/shark on my mate’s facebook page now, we still talk about that kinda stuff like “88mph” and “These are not the droids your looking for”. Happy days!

  6. How cool was he coming onto the beach?…….Only the Fonz could do that….

  7. Gordo says:

Are there any questions about the persevered equivalence of the red and blue teams?

The evidence is there and it is relentless and the GOP just becomes bolder and more in your face every day. (hourly in fact)

  8. Fiatmentalist says:

The public have Zero trust Stacey. Who could blame them?

Watched a House of Lords debate late last year about promoting car sharing as a way of reducing emmissions. A question arose of how to best check that car sharing is happening. One of the lords forwarded that it was already possible to track the number of people in the car via their mobile phones. The debate nervously proceeded with some lords raising the question “does the public know this is possible?”, “would they be happy to know that this is going on?” mmkay

Its not Jump the shark, its more like this.

The repugnicans wish to give even more tax cuts to the rich (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/03/republican-jobs-plan-tax-cuts-rich_n_669539.html).

I guess being able to borrow at suppressed interest rates from the government backed counterfeiting cartel is not enough? “Social Contract”? Yes, be our slaves and we’ll let you eat (maybe).

  10. Jimbo says:

Does Maes not realise that the environment is a more fundamental part of the economy than property rights? If he’s opposed to groups who put “the environment above citizens’ rights” then he may as well oppose anyone who thinks citizens don’t have the right to steal. He should get on a bike, take off his tinfoil hat and feel the wind in his hair.

  11. Nat says:

How dare they provide extra transport facilities and options while helping reduce local pollution and getting people off their fat arses? It’s an outrage and a front to civil liberties!

Maybe the car was taken to the US by Her Benz et al to goad them into an oil addiction program in the first place!

These Americans are crazy, to paraphrase Obelix

  12. Nat says:

    Nice shorts Fonzi!

Notice how the show-off stuntman starts his turn into a 360 at the top of the ramp.

  13. Marc Authier says:

Must be a China Commie conspiracy ? Chineese used to ride to work on bicycle under Mao. I’m sure that Republican Party demonic fart is shaken because they talk in the article about sharing. Republican party asshole.

  14. Marc Authier says:

And the best bike sharing service package in the World IS Bixi from Québec !
Montréal is NUMERO UNO in North America for bicycles and mass transit.
Get rid of the Republican party assholes in the USA. They are a menace for the Earth and humanity.

Bixi services soon to installed in London. Quality and price wise it’s the best service in the world. Anyways it’s what London City thinks. Nothing better than a an economic crisis to open minds. It’s the only positive point about economic crisis. As for Republicans ? Die.

  15. Bonn says:

I did’nt get tis post Whats up wit Fonzie jumpin ta shark pit ????

  16. Max Power says:

What SH fails to mention, or even see :

Political parties, at the local level — have been an important reason for the US’s downfall. Some states ban political parties in cities, and some even have bans at the county level.

Some states and provinces in the UK white colonies (Australia, NZ, Canada, Saint Helena and Dependencies …) have had the horse sense to ban political parties at levels less than the state or province — but this is not universal. As a last gasp to preserve the Royal and Imperial system — this banning of political parties needs to happen in the core commonwealth.

  17. stacyherbert says:

@Fiat – what are you talking about? the bike system in Paris is voluntary, paid for by private money and, while not without its problems (mainly theft), it has been enough of a success that they are introducing the same scheme but with cars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VĂ©lib

London also wants to adopt this model I believe

  18. Fiatmentalist says:

Im talking about a complete loss of trust with politicians. How else could such an argument be used and not ridiculed?

The economic rug has been pulled from the western worlds feet and people are looking for answers. The vast right wing conspiracy has been feeding them helish type answers but they are answers. Being told that wall street insiders are economic “terrorists” is one hell of an answer but it is an answer.

This has got nothing to do with enviromental issues, this is someone pressing the paranoid button of the public and getting it to work for him, like it has since at least 9/11. Culture is being transformed into cult.

  19. deepsoul says:

took me 45 seconds to realize…..the jacket!

  20. Vega Man says:

  21. Chris Gould says:

    It’s a conspiracy!
    Who would choose to bike
instead of celebrating the democratic right
    To contribute to global warming?

  22. Fiatmentalist says:

    And as a follow on

Top Obama czar: Infiltrate all ‘conspiracy theorists’

Whose the plant then? Stacey or Max??

  23. stacyherbert says:

@Fiat – “Im talking about a complete loss of trust with politicians” . . . and yet it is coming from the mouth of a wannabe politician ; no politician, nor any person who wants to be a politician can be trusted in a neo-feudal system, of which the US is a prime example

  24. Wilson says:

@stacyherbert “no politician, nor any person who wants to be a politician can be trusted in a neo-feudal system, of which the US is a prime example”

Does that mean we can’t trust Peter Schiff?
