    Yes typical right wing propaganda.

One utterance and all thinking stops.

  6. Marc Authier says:

Pay to whom ? To Al Gore ? No thanks. Changing our way of life means getting rid of parasites. I share your preoccupation about externalizing the ecological cost of economic activity. 100% in accord with both of you. BUT ? I do not think I have to enrich pigs like Al Gore or his partners from Goldman Sachs and Enron. Hope you understand the problem with all the debate. Who pays what ? And to whom ?

  7. ronron says:

hahaha. @Stacy. how’s your mom? has anyone ever stole her golf clubs?

  8. Gordo says:

Zombies, can’t count the number of times the MSM told us that the US was different because we moved soooooooooo quickly to resolve the problems.

Oh you heathens! And Stacy, is your preference for classic Greek gowns based on Zeus worship?

As for dropping off the grid, good point about mandatory health insurance. I figure the IRS will also beat down one’s door if one is too successful with an alternative money supply, for example.

  17. stacyherbert says:

@Gordo – it was US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand (and Botswana) that abstained; suprisingly France voted for it, considering Veolia and Vivendi are French owned; so making water a human right would presumably make it more difficult to cut water off, for example

  18. F. Beard says:

Concerning those who deny water is a human right:

    Thus says the LORD,
“For three transgressions of Israel and for four
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they sell the righteous for money
And the needy for a pair of sandals.
These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless
    Also turn aside the way of the humble;
And a man and his father resort to the same girl
In order to profane My holy name.

  34. Hmmm…

    mAx states:
…people who talk about climate change and global warming, they tend to view things through a perspective that is dominated by 300 years of mankind’s excess in taming nature…Humans have really developed an overdeveloped sense of their ability to understand and master nature. Truth is that, the forces that glue nature together are beyond the comprehension of any mortal on planet Earth and therefore, uhhh occasionally, as is now, when the forces that glue nature together start to change dramatically, humans, like species before them… get caught in the cross-hairs and risk extinction… So I think the debate of Global Warming / Climate Change is over. We’re talking now about the countdown to human extinction due to MAN-MADE, Anthropomorphic Climate Change Global Warming and it’s an ecological H-Word, y’all, encompassing now close to 7 Billion walking talking Anthro-units previously called humans…

Okay… So on the one hand, the forces of Nature are beyond human comprehension… unless your name is mAx Timothy Keiser, in which case Climate Change is undeniably in the realm of human manipulation…
Well… that’s a BIG LEAP of disconnected logic… is that an oil-can ready to grease the pulley?
and by the way… the word is anthropo-GENIC… not -MORPHIC… πŸ˜‰

    But please… continue…

…First of all… the catastrophic forces of Nature… this is an instance unlike any previous instance because this catastrophe was perpetrated by a species that is to say humans. Now if you go back to the dinosaurs they did not create the meteor that slammed into Earth that made them extinct. Here… you’ve got humans fouling their own environment and triggering catastrophic eco-holocaust due to their own actions. So let’s be clear about that. This is not a once-in-a-millennium ecological phenomenon that we had nothing to do with. That’s not the case, This is Man-Made, triggered by human industrial activity catastrophic premature extinction brought on through mass-suicide…

So continuing on the meme of AGW/ACC, there is a lack of supported evidence to back up the argument…
I believe mAx once stated that if his “sister had a Ding-Dong, she’d be (his) brother”…
Indeed… if one states the sky is black at night, that doesn’t explain what makes it blue in the day…

At this point of the conversation, Stacy, to her credit, tries to interject with the possibility of UNCERTAINTY… but mAx carries on with references to Greek Mythology, once again derailing any hope of logical conclusion to his illogically tangential thesis…

and then the show continues with Markets, Finance, Scandal (which is what it is supposed to be)…

So here we have a detailed example of an oiled pulley on mAx’ guillotine…
but luckily, the Blade Guides are also oxidized…

So there are three possible outcomes:

    1) mAx refrains from offering any more opinion on Climate Change, thereby using “silence in ignorance” to let the blade seize, or,

    2) Back up his opinion with something a little more tangible and poignant in relation to the subject, so as to free his head from the stockade having vindicated his innocence…or,

    3) Keep on yammering like the above example, effectively greasing the blade-guides, and watch as the head rolls down the steps…

    Place your bets…and “choose wisely”
put THAT on your burrito and smoke it

  35. Youri Carma says:

Complete poppycock cause without water a human dies needless to say.

Next step will be a “UN right to live” or a “UN right to breath”.

btw “a right” implies that they can take it away or restrict it under certain “terrorist” circumstances. UN is a criminal eugenists organistaion.

  43. jischinger says:

    RE: the lottery

  44. @Tofu Charlie

    I wouldn’t call it a tragedy… YET…

My concern is that mAx is walking down the path of Glen Beck and his ilk (albeit from the other side of the axis)…

For instance, today’s wandering “thesis” absorbed 7 minutes of the show or so, and what did it do?

It flavoured the rest of the show with apprehensive dismissal… I can only imagine a fresh listener just turning it off after that point…
After all, if his opinion on one subject is so disjointed and, to be blunt, ignorant,
then what is the rest of his opinion worth?

It’s one thing for us “little people” to blither along in the wilderness of anonymity with our inane ideas… but he is on a visible and (probably) profitable pedestal…

What he says could make or break him…

The reason I said that “luckily the blade-guides are oxidized” is that he hasn’t gone on the TV programs and promulgated his views, at least not to the extent of what is relayed on the radio shows…
I can only assume his audience is wider and more variegated in the visual scenario…

    and there lies the risk…

However, it’s his life to live… it’s his head on the block…
I would prefer to see it remain connected, that’s all…

Then again, maybe this tabloid circus is merely a side dish for the bread of the proletariat…
It was never meant to have any effective substance…
in which case, who gives a shit…

I’ll just go roll up some sweaty, woolen work-socks in my High-school diploma, and smoke them, since I have no burritos…
that’ll really get me out there…

  45. and then there was LOKI

    the tale of
    Loki, Útgarða-Loki, and Logi
    is pretty interesting…

  46. @JustHearSay says:

    @Max and @Stacy

Climate debate is not over as is evidenced by the failure of the Copenhagen Meeting in December. Not to mention the 30,000 scientists who filed law suit against Al Gore for fraud.

The IPCC is not a credible source because of their repeated denial of Freedom of Information requests . Lets not forget the information contained in the hacked emails from the IPCC.

The climate has been in a constant state of change since Earth began. The Medieval Warm Period followed by the Little Ice Age are good examples of exactly that. Where those man made as well? Isn’t it entirely plausible that any change we are seeing or experiencing now is just Mother Nature doing her thing?

  47. Hey Max and Stacy,

Great show…… I think. It has become harder to hear your broadcast. Not being able to hear the most entertaining of all financial shows I listen to is becoming increasingly frustrating. Peter Schiff and Jim Puplava have great sound and probably no where near as much money as Max Keiser. Well maybe more money but much less charisma. Please turn up the volume so I don’t have to.

Thanks for all you do ……Stacey, hang in there Max you are improving weekly.

  52. Teresa says:

I was really depressed a few years ago after reading the book “Collapse.” It made me think hard about the possibility of human extinction. Now, a few years later, human extinction doesn’t look like such a bad course to me.

Think I can only listen to this TAM properly if I transmit it to my FM radio via my phone – shame Resonance is taking a holiday (obviously not a shame for the Resonance volunteers!)

  54. pohdinpa says:

Max starts out telling us that the earth is too complex to understand then he goes on to say he understands why Russia is in a heat wave. Then his knowledge of a self described unknowable complex earth tells him man is to blame for the heat wave and crop failures. Just maybe if he looked into the wheat crop he would understand that in some years heat and drought and rain destroy crops all over the globe. Maybe the russian farmers planted a GM wheat in a hugely mono-cultivative way that is designed to produce in a cooler and wetter climate. Maybe if they planted many different varieties some would thrive while others whither.
Ask the midwest american farmers how much of their wheat crop failed during the floods a few years ago or during the last drought. Then ask them about their bumper crops in previous or later years.
Thats what weather does, it is unpredictable, but I’m sure Max can predict the unpredictable, hell he knows the unknowable, comprehends the incomprehensible, understands the unfathomable intricacies of the unknowably complex world we live on.
    Keep moving, no hypocrisy here
